Morning workshop in central Edinburgh, Saturday 15th May 2011
'Be the Change You Want to be in the World' Gandhi
For most of us, going to work to do a good job, earn a good wage and progress up the ladder is not enough to fulfill us. We want to make a difference in the lives of those we touch.
As a career coach I find a lot of people confuse that with feeling the only way they can do that is by leaving their corporate environments and working for a charity. But it's not the only way to make a difference. There are as many ways as there are people in this world committed to changing it in ways big and small. And following the recent economic collapse, the opportunities to shape a new world we want to live in are everywhere!
This workshop, which will be with an intimate group of up to eight participants, will explore:
- our personal definition of 'making a difference' - of getting clear about what difference we want to make and to whom
- how the sources of inspiration around us, and how we can tap into them
- how to begin with where we are, and making a difference at the local level - even if our vision is global
- the blocks that can knock us out of alignment with our highest vision and how to get around them
- the value of being part of a like-minded community to make the right case for change and make it happen
